Brian Haynes (16 August 1951 – November 2011) was a British sprint canoer who competed in the mid-1970s. He was eliminated in the semifinals of the K-4 1000 m event at the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal. He broke the British record over 1000m in the semi-final but it has now been beaten many times because of advances in equipment and training technology. He never official retired from the sport and still carried it on right up until his diagnosis. He has had quite a few noticeable achievements, they include: 1976 OLympic Games. Winning the Round the Island Sailing Race and being first overall. Two wins in the Multihull sailing class at the Cowes week regatta. Heading up a team EMEA for Splunk business.
